One-day closure at Hornsea and Driffield's household waste recycling sites

Household waste recycling sites in Hornsea and Driffield are to be shut for one day to allow essential work to be carried out.

East Riding of Yorkshire Council is informing residents that the Hornsea site will be closed on Monday 8 November and the Driffield site will be closed on Tuesday 9 November.

Alternative sites at Carnaby and Withernsea will be open as usual on those days.

Residents are urged to hang on to their household waste for a day, or visit the alternative sites if they are unable to wait.

Cllr Chris Matthews, portfolio holder for environment and climate change, said: "These are routine closures. We apologise for any inconvenience but we'd like to thank residents for bearing with us."
