ArtWaves Festival is happy to announce that their highly acclaimed Open Exhibition is now free of charge for artists to submit one entry. This follows the news that the festival will now be an online event.
Artwaves Festival hopes to provide a greater opportunity for artists to share their creativity and inspire others in an online exhibition without the entry fee. The exhibition will take place online from Monday 1st - Sunday 7th March 2021. Enabling viewing of all the submissions and the opportunity to vote for your favourite as the Audience Choice winner. Judges will be appointed once again, selecting their winner based on artistic quality and appeal, with both winners receiving cash prizes.
Lauren Frost, ArtWaves Festival Director said, 'Moving the festival online has meant a lot of adaptations and programming changes to ensure we can deliver creative interaction with our audience. The decision to make the Open Exhibition free is just one way we are working to engage people as a festival; to spark, nourish and inspire creativity. The impact of so many events being cancelled or moved online can present an element of separation with audiences and we're trying to combat that by being as accessible as possible.'
ArtWaves have extended the submission deadline until Friday 19th February so you have plenty of time to select your favourite piece, photograph it and submit your entry.
To enter, participants must submit one photograph of their artwork to firstname.lastname@example.org by 19th February with the following information: artist name, preferred contact information, artwork title, medium used, artwork size and artwork cost if the piece is for sale.
Further information will be released on the official Artwaves website (www.artwaves.co.uk) and social media platforms in due course.
