About the centre
Bridlington Children’s Centre is based at Bridlington Children’s Centre, on Butts Close adjacent to East Riding College site and Bay Primary School. The friendly, passionate and knowledgeable staff team work alongside colleagues from Midwifery and Health Visiting to provide a range of activities and services for children and their parents or carers, grandparents or childminders from pregnancy to age 9.We have recently achieved the Gold Standard Baby Friendly Accreditation which enables us to better support families with feeding and developing close, loving relationships with their babies.
Parking
Limited car parking is available, including disabled/accessible car parking spaces, to the front of the building. There is also on street parking available. The centre is also within easy walking distance from the town centre and surrounding residential areas of Bridlington, with a pram store available for use if needed. There are a number of bus routes with stops nearby and the train station is within easy walking distance also.
Facilities
  • Two spacious multipurpose family friendly rooms, which are used to deliver early learning and development sessions for children and their families.
  • A sensory environment that families can access to support their child’s development.
  • The meeting room and health rooms are available to host various meetings and health appointments when needed
  • Clothes swap. This is a free resource where families can donate children’s clothes and take any items they may then want.
  • Take and Make craft resources are available to purchase at reception at a very reasonable cost to support children’s learning and development to support home learning.
  • Baby changing facilities are available throughout the building.
  • Comfortable breast feeding and infant feeding facilities.
Accessibility
The children’s centre is a two storey building, there is a lift available to the upper floor making the building fully accessible to all visitors. Wherever practicable all rooms can be arranged and used flexibly in order to accommodate individual needs.There are accessible toilets on both floors and the main entrance door to the reception has a low level automatic push button operation. Baby changing facilities are available on both floors.

Bridlington Children’s Centre, Butts Close also offers some services in some outreach locations such as local schools, childcare settings and early years community groups (see our events page ADD LINK for further detail)Children’s centre services are co-located on site with Bridlington Nursery School. The location of the centre and the facilities available for families can support other key partners in delivering their services to families from the centre, for example the Portage Service, Speech and Language services and a number of health professional appointments and clinics.
