Pop-up courses

What and where you can learn, costs and find and book a course.

What are adult learning ‘Pop-up’ courses?

Adult learning 'Pop-up' courses are run in addition to listed courses at our four main Adult Learning Centres. Pop up courses are designed to take adult learning courses out and about and into the heart of local communities. At a Pop-up learning session, we may be able to run a two-hour session (to start) with an experienced tutor for your chosen subject, for a group of 10 people or more. We will meet with you to discuss what your Pop-up course may look like and a venue where you would like to deliver it.

What help and support do you offer?

We can run a two-hour session (to start) with an experienced tutor for the subject that we choose between us. We provide guidance on the funding that may be available to you. Funding is allocated to East Riding of Yorkshire Council from the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) and is complex. When we meet with you we can talk about this in more detail.

How much do the courses cost?

Course costs vary depending on the course and the type of learner.

What is the eligibility criteria?

Funding criteria for courses are complex, so once you have established what it is you would like to run we can discuss this in more detail. We can deliver courses for learners aged 19 years and older, and also family learning courses for parents/carers and their children.

How do I get in touch and discuss further?

To enquire about running a ‘Pop up’ course in your local community give us a call at the Beverley Adult Learning Centre in the first instance. Your enquiry will be passed through to the relevant area manager who will give you a call for an initial discussion about the subject you would like to run, how you are going to promote it and the number of people that you need to attract.
