Dignity in care

Information about celebrating Dignity in the East Riding of Yorkshire.

What is the East Riding of Yorkshire Council Dignity Charter?

A number of conferences took place in late 2012 and early 2013 to celebrate the Dignity Agenda in the East Riding. As part of these events delegates formulated Dignity Pledges which were then voted on by attendees and the general public. The top three pledges from the East Riding of Yorkshire Council were pulled together to formulate our Dignity Charter:

See my past, see my present, respect my future, think Dignity!

Dignity is for life - Life is for living.

It doesn't cost us to care - Dignity is priceless!

What can I do to support Dignity?

Dignity Action Day is an annual event that takes place on 1 February every year to celebrate the Dignity in Care agenda. Services within East Riding of Yorkshire Council mark the day each year in a number of different ways, as do other providers of services around the area.

A list of all of the events that take place locally and nationally, as well as a range of information on dignity, can be found on the dignity in care network website, where you can also become a Dignity Champion:
