What is the World War 1 Centenary Fund?

East Riding of Yorkshire Council established a Fund to support communities across the East Riding which were planning to hold commemorative events up to, and around, the centenary of the end of the First World War on 11 November 2018.

The East Riding of Yorkshire Council World War 1 Centenary Fund was available to help with direct costs of related activity (e.g. staging an exhibition or event) or with associated costs (e.g. arranging community transport to and from events for older residents or children).  

Applications closed on 12 October 2018 and a list of the projects supported by the Centenary Fund is available below.  Please refer any queries regarding the Fund to the administrator by e-mail at: rural@eastriding.gov.uk

What has the World War 1 Centenary Fund supported?

Small grants of up to £500 were available to Town and Parish Councils and other organisations holding appropriate commemorative events.  In total, more than £18,000 was awarded in support of 51 projects across the East Riding.  A list of those projects supported by the Fund is available below.
