How do I stand as a candidate for town and parish election?

If you meet the criteria you can stand for election by completing a nomination pack for the relevant election.

If an election is contested (there are more nominations than seats available), an election (poll) will then take place on a specified date for people to decide who they wish to vote for.

Nomination packs and other information for candidates will appear below as and when an election is called. If you're unable to print the forms please  contact the electoral services team and we will post the forms to you:

The briefing for all candidates and agents will be held on Thursday 7 November 2019 at 6.00 pm at County Hall, Beverley. You will need to book a place by calling (01482) 393202 by 12 noon on Thursday 7 November 2019.

UK Parliamentary Election - 12 December 2019

Below are the nomination and related forms for the forthcoming UK Parliamentary General Election. 

There are sets of forms for each of the three constituencies:

Election briefing

The briefing for all candidates and agents will be held on Thursday 7 November 2019 at 6.00 pm at County Hall, Cross Street, Beverley. 

You will need to book a place by calling (01482) 393202 by 12 noon on Thursday 7 November 2019.

Nomination papers can be submitted from 8 November 2019 to 14 November between the hours of 10.00 am and 4.00pm. 

Candidates or their representatives are requested to make an appointment in order to submit their nomination papers by calling either (01482) 393313 or (01482) 393302.
