What is the role of the Appointments Committee?

The role of the Appointments Committee is to appoint directors and second tier officers only.

Who chairs meetings?

Meetings of the Appointments Committee are chaired by Councillor Parnaby, OBE.

When are meetings?

The Appointments Committee meets on an ad-hoc basis as and when required.

Are meetings open to the public?

No, due to the confidential material being discussed which must be considered in private. The circumstances under which we can consider matters in private are tightly controlled by law.

How and when can I view agenda and minutes of meetings?


Agenda and reports for the Appointments Committee are placed on public deposit five clear working days before each meeting and can be downloaded by selecting the relevant agenda below.

Reports containing exempt or confidential matters will not, however, be available.
