If you would like to take passengers out on a pleasure boat or vessel, or hire the boat or vessel out to members of the public you will need a licence.
Licences are issued by both the Maritime and Coastguard Agency and the Local Licensing Authority.
To apply to the council for a licence you will need to nominate a set departure point and the vessel or boat will need to be navigated by a licensed boatman.
East Riding of Yorkshire Council is not currently authorised to issue pleasure boats or boatmen licence, you will need to contact the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (external website PDF - opens in a new window).
